Serving as President/CEO of Informs since its formation in January of 1989, Dan Cheresh oversees and is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company as well as oversight of business development, vendor relations and strategic sales. Dan graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Pre Law, but after taking the LSAT decided that becoming an attorney wasn’t the direction he wanted to pursue as his career.
Since the age of 5, Dan’s father had taken him sailing, and his father’s passion for the sport became his own. As a result, Dan decided to professionally race sailboats for a living. This experience had a huge impact on his strategic thinking and his leadership skills. In the mid 1980s, Dan moved back to Michigan from Southern California and decided to pursue a more traditional career. He accepted his first job in sales for Moore Business Forms, taking a territory that had shown negative growth and turning it into one that increased by 150% in 18 months. Two years later and after a short time with a smaller business forms company, Dan Cheresh and Dave Hockstra decided to start Lakeshore Business Forms (A Division Of Informs, Inc.).
Dan continues his sailing today as a nonprofessional and has a sailing team (Extreme2 Sailing Team) that he campaigns across the country.
